“I started tattooing in 1997 and opened my own shop ‘Modern Body Art’ in 1999. My favourite styles to work in are Western/Japanese and also realistic pin-ups but I really love drawing inspired by nature; scenery, sunsets, water, fish, birds etc. Most of the pieces I work on now are large multi session tattoos although I do enjoy doing smaller one session pieces especially at conventions. I always like to prepare a drawing beforehand rather than draw straight onto the skin. I prefer the extra time that that gives me and I feel I can put more planning and time into each piece that I do that way. I love working conventions, seeing parts of the world that you would never think to go for a holiday and meeting tattoo artists from around the world who inspire you to work harder and try new things. I am lucky enough to have met, been tattooed by and formed friendships with some really great artists! I am hoping to do as many conventions as possible! I admire so many tattoo artists for so many reasons but the ones I would love to mention are Nick Baxter, Bob Tyrell, Kurt Wiscombe, Filip Leu, Amanada Toy, Rudy Fritsch, Shige, Tim kern, Steve Byrne, Guy Aitchison, Hannah Aitchison, Joe Capobianco, Trevor Mcstay, Xed le Hed, Jason Butcher, Robert Hernandez.
I consider myself very lucky to be a tattooist and I truly believe it is the best job in the world. I love that the more I put in the more in gives me back so I love to work hard! If I am not tattooing I am probably drawing.”
